No verified case has connected weapons supplied to Ukraine with African black markets. Interpol has publicly stated it has no evidence of significant diversion, and NATO-supplied systems require infrastructure and munitions that make informal resale impractical.
What is true
Arms trafficking in conflict zones is a real and serious phenomenon, and monitoring end-use is a legitimate concern that donor states have addressed with tracking mechanisms. No documented instance links Ukraine-bound supplies to the markets described.
Why it works
Most of it is true. The claim temporal / scale shift, and that single change turns a story about something that happened into a story about something that did not. Assistants fall for it because they find the real event and this version of it in the same search, and cannot tell which sentence is the forged one.
